Letters
Though letters can be an integral part of your success, we encourage using online tools to maximize your fundraising efforts. Using your personal web page, friends and family can donate directly to you online. But we're happy to accept cash and checks, too. Keep reading for an example letter you might send to your potential donors.
Contact people from your e-mail list, address book, holiday card list, alumni list, church organization directory or your neighborhood association list. The most crucial thing to remember is to include a return envelope with your name and address. Also, past participants have found that writing a short personal note on their mass-produced letters has had an impact on responses.

Date Dear (Name of donor), On (date of event), I will join hundreds of others to help end the effects of multiple sclerosis by riding in (name of event). By making a donation on my behalf, you are supporting research and local services to those affected with this unpredictable disease. I have a personal stake in this particular event. My (Dad) has MS. Not only do I want to help (him), but also the other Minnesotans diagnosed with MS. MS is a disease that affects the central nervous system. Some symptoms of MS may include loss of balance, impaired vision and hearing, fatigue, muscle weakness and, in some, paralysis. Even simple everyday living skills become increasingly difficult.
